Terms of Service

By creating an account or using BOSS ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you are using BOSS on behalf of a business, you represent that you have authority to bind that business to these Terms, and "you" refers to both you and the business.

If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

BOSS is an AI-native business intelligence platform. It connects to your business tools (accounting, payments, CRM, HR, and others), reads data you authorise it to access, and generates a daily intelligence brief highlighting exceptions, risks, and recommended actions.

BOSS provides information and recommendations to help you make decisions. It does not replace professional financial, legal, or accounting advice. Any action you take based on BOSS output is your own responsibility.

To use BOSS you must:

• Be at least 18 years old
• Be operating or managing a business
• Provide a valid work email address
• Not be prohibited from receiving services under applicable law

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. BOSS uses passwordless authentication (magic links and optionally Google Sign-In) — there is no password to protect, but you should not share your sign-in links or session cookies with others.

You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at legal@tryboss.co.

Each account is associated with one business. You may not share a single account across multiple distinct businesses.

BOSS connects to third-party tools (QuickBooks, Stripe, HubSpot, Xero, etc.) via OAuth. By connecting a tool, you:

• Authorise BOSS to read data from that tool on your behalf
• Confirm you have the right to grant that access
• Understand that BOSS may read data from that tool to generate your brief

BOSS does not write to your connected tools without your explicit approval in the app. You can revoke any integration at any time from your account settings, and from the connected tool's own OAuth management page.

BOSS is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or a partner of any third-party tool provider. Your use of those tools is governed by their own terms of service.

You agree not to:

• Use BOSS for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or copy any part of the Service
• Use BOSS to access data you are not authorised to access
• Introduce malware, viruses, or other harmful code
• Impersonate another person or entity
• Resell or sublicense access to BOSS without our written consent
• Use automated means to access the Service in ways that exceed normal usage

You own your data. The business data BOSS reads from your connected tools belongs to you. We process it to provide the Service and do not claim any ownership over it.

By using BOSS, you grant us a limited licence to process your data solely to provide and improve the Service as described in our Privacy Policy. This licence ends when you delete your account.

We do not sell your data. We do not train AI models sold to third parties on your identifiable business data. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

BOSS is currently offered under a free early access programme. We reserve the right to introduce paid plans in the future. If we do, we will give you at least 30 days advance notice before charging you, and you will have the opportunity to cancel before any charge is applied.

We aim to keep BOSS available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may perform maintenance, apply updates, or experience outages outside our control. We will make reasonable efforts to minimise disruption and communicate planned downtime in advance.

BOSS uses AI (Anthropic's Claude) to generate brief narratives and recommendations. AI-generated content may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies. You should verify important decisions independently. BOSS is an intelligence aid, not a substitute for professional judgement.

We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any AI-generated output.

BOSS, its software, design, trademarks, and all related content are owned by the BOSS platform team. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.

Nothing in these Terms transfers any intellectual property rights to you, except the limited licence to use the Service as described here.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, BOSS and its operators are not liable for:

• Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
• Loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill
• Business decisions made based on BOSS output
• Errors or delays in AI-generated content
• Failures of third-party integrations (QuickBooks, Stripe, etc.) that affect the accuracy or delivery of your brief

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or USD $100, whichever is greater.

BOSS is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the Service will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free from security vulnerabilities.

You may cancel your account at any time by contacting us at legal@tryboss.co. On cancellation, your data will be deleted within 30 days subject to our retention obligations.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or if continued access would expose BOSS or other users to harm. We will give reasonable notice before termination unless immediate action is required for security or legal reasons.

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date and notify you by email at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Continued use of BOSS after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of BOSS shall be resolved in good faith first, and if unresolved, submitted to binding arbitration or courts of competent jurisdiction in the United States.
